What began as a discussion between Dr Ulrike
Rivett and Professor Jon Tapson of the University of Cape Town and Associate Professor Jevon Davies of the Cape Peninsula University of Technology has since progressed into a unique e-health technology development company.
Today, Cell-Life provides simple, cost-effective solutions for the public
health sector in Africa or emerging market contexts. The team is made up of passionate academics and researchers who commit their skills and expertise to creating systems that address the challenges of HIV/Aids. As we are a homegrown organisation, we have insights into public healthcare in South Africa as well as the African context. Our on-the-ground experience enables us to take into consideration the local economy, sustainability, affordability; constitutional and legal implications; social needstates; and area-specific requirements. We work to international standards whilst addressing issues within the local context. We are not motivated by profit or glory, nonetheless, we base our organisation on sound business principles; unleashing the maximum potential of people through our solutions. All our solutions are open-source, and can operate within existing set-ups. Our applications have both specialised and general uses. At Cell-Life, we generate and interrogate ideas, before implementing them. We appreciate the significance of this new field and submit all of our concepts to rigorous research, engaging in critical questioning and benefiting from collaborations with institutions both internationally and within South Africa. Expansion plans are bold and ambitious, and with the resources available, Cell-Life will continue to put innovation to work and make a difference. More detailed information on Cell-Life can be found in the documents under the Company Info section of our downloads. |
