It is said that there are around 40 million people living around the world that are infected by the Human Immunodeficiency Virus otherwise known as HIV. Statistics also show that there are 14,000 new infections every day of which AIDS is said to kill 8,000 people a day. Cell-Life would like to call on everyone to unite in the fight against HIV/AIDS as together we can fight the pandemic that plagues our globe. It is common belief that HIV/AIDS is a medically related illness that can only be dealt with by doctors and nurses but this is not true. Everyone can contribute to the fight against HIV/AIDS. The aim of World AIDS Day is to raise awareness in the community about HIV/AIDS issues, including the need for support and understanding for people living with HIV/AIDS, and the need for the development of education and prevention initiatives. United we can make a difference.
